Summer 2020 Semester

One more semester of online only courses and then hopefully things return to "normal" for the fall semester. At this time, the college is planning on face-to-face courses on campus for the fall 2020 semester. We are all hoping and praying this will happen.

A quick message to let you know Sage scholars (you) who register for a minimum of 6 credits for the summer 2020 semester will be awarded $2000 of Project Sage support. Of course, the courses you register for will need to be part of your EDU degree plan.

Take care, continue to stay safe and "see" you soon!

Update for March

We are almost half way through the spring 2020 semester already. Time goes by so quickly!

A few things to mark on your calendars this month:

  • Mid-term grades are due March 13.
  • Spring break is the week of March 16-20. Enjoy some time for yourself and get some rest!
  • The 2020 AIHEC Student Conference is March 21-25. Eighteen students and coaches will be flying to New Mexico for this fun competition with some of the top college students in the country attending and competing in events.
  • The Project Sage Monthly Seminar is Tuesday, March 31, at noon in Building 61, the same building where we always meet. Lunch will be provided.
On another note, Brenda is going to be leaving us Monday, March 9, for 8 weeks. Brenda had a cancerous tumor removed and is going to be in Minnesota for radiation treatment. We wish her well and will be thinking about her. Her doctors are expecting a full recovery so good news! Prayers for her as she goes through this treatment.

Lezlie will be your point of contact and Leah Hamann is going to teach one of her classes. I am always available to you, too, if you need anything.

My cell is (701) 390-4440. I suggest you text me first because I've got this spam thing going on and ignore most numbers I don't recognize.

Happy Wednesday!

January Monthly Seminar

The monthly meeting for Project Sage will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 12 noon in Building 61. This is the same building we've met in for past meetings (upstairs from Security).

Your attendance at these seminars is expected - and we'll provide you with lunch.

See you then - mark your calendars!

Thank you.

2020 Spring Student Support

Welcome to a new year and new semester!

This post is to update you on the student support payment you are eligible for if you are a Project Sage scholar and meeting the criteria.

If you have passed all three of the Praxis Core tests, you are eligible to receive $4,000 per semester. Of course, you also have to be enrolled full-time, passing your courses and meeting the minimum score on the dispositions assessment. But those of you who are at this level meet this criteria.

If you have taken and passed at least one Praxis Core test, and have met the other criteria, you are eligible for $3,000 per semester.

If you are eligible for this student support, I'm going to wait a couple weeks to request the payment for you. The reason for this is we want to make sure your other funding sources are posted first, especially Pell (Title IV) if you're eligible for it. Once Pell is posted, the request for Sage support for those of you who are eligible will be processed.

As we've said in the past, please do not contact any of us and ask about the status of your support payment. I will let you know when the request for payment is submitted. After that, we have no way of tracking it. You'll just have to watch your student account info in my.uttc.edu to see when it's posted. Please don't call Financial Aid or Student Accounts either. As hard as it is, just be patient and watch for it in my.uttc. Again, we'll let you know when it's submitted. Once it's submitted, the money is usually in your hands within 8-10 business days.

Stay warm and I'll see you at the monthly Sage seminar that will be scheduled soon.

Thank you.

Lisa
