The grant support for the summer 2018 semester has been submitted for processing. You will have to watch your student accounts in my.uttc to find out when the money will be added to your account. We submit the request but we do not know when the funds are actually available to you. Please allow at least 5 business days for it to be processed. I know it's hard not to call people and ask them about it but it's a Finance Office process so we have to let them do their job.
As we mentioned at the last monthly seminar we had, summer financial support is different than it is for the fall/spring semesters. During the fall and spring semesters, grant participants (you) are eligible to receive $3,000 per semester as long as you are passing your courses, making progress on your Praxis tests, etc. The summer semester is different. According to the grant, which is Department of Education money, scholars (you) can receive up to $1500.
This is how summer student support is calculated: If you take a summer course and pass it with a C, or higher, you are eligible to receive $750. If you take more than one course, you have to pass all of your courses with a C, or higher. So if you fail a summer course, you are not eligible for student support since the funds are awarded based on academic performance.
This summer we added an incentive for attending the Praxis Boot Camp and/or passing the Praxis Core tests. If a scholar passes one or more of the Praxis Core tests, the scholar can receive an additional $500 for each test passed. The clincher here is that the total amount cannot exceed $1500. This is not our rule; it's determined by the grant.
